Well – you planned the “perfect” vacation – your trip of a lifetime!
Following your First Class flight to Rome, would be a relaxing three night stay in your luxurious 5-star hotel, and two days of sightseeing with your private car and guide –– before boarding for your two week cruise through the Mediterranean (in a suite, no less) – followed by three days visiting Barcelona (again with private car/guide and 5-star accommodations) before boarding your first-class flight home! WOW!
You had done your “homework” on this one.....planned everything right down to the last little detail.....and you laid-out a “bundle!” To make it even better....everything had been PAID IN ADVANCE so there would be no “surprises.”
SURPRISE! First day in Rome you take a “nasty spill” and wind up in an Italian hospital! Two days later your ship sails without you. So much for “planning!”
You pull out your credit cards, settle-up with the hospital, and scramble around for a flight home for follow-up medical care – expediency (not cost) is your priority at this point.
Finally you settle in at home, bruised and battered, and totally disappointed. You begin to add-up the damage and then it hits you. NO TRIP INSURANCE! You remember considering it but opted not to buy because you thought it too expensive. HULLO???
Was it more expensive than non-refundable First Class airfare, five-star hotel accommodations, private cars/guides and two week Mediterranean cruise in a luxury suite? Was it more expensive than that Italian hospital bill you now have to pay out of pocket?
You say you didn’t buy trip insurance because you didn’t think anything would happen. Lorraine argues you didn’t buy trip insurance because you DIDN’T THINK!
