Visit the beautiful Anthony's Key Resort, home of the Roatan Museum and the Roatan Institute for Marine Science, followed by shopping opportunities at West End Village and the Cameo Factory.
Your tour starts with a stop at the beautiful Anthony's Key Resort, home of the Roatan Museum and Marine Institute where you will have the time to visit in the tiny but well-kept and interesting air-conditioned Museum. Learn about the Bay Islands, looking at some interesting archeological handicrafts and some ancient documents.
Then proceed next door to the Marine Institute of Science, where your guide will explain the underwater environment, as you observe original pieces of beautiful coral formations and replicas of colorful tropical fish hanging on the walls. At the resort you can also shop in the well organized souvenirs shop. Following, you will be taken to the center of West End Village, to a beautiful meeting point facing the ocean.
Enjoy complimentary Honduran coffee, lemonade or iced tea. There are several shops made along the beach with time for shop or relax. Then stop at the Rum Point Cake Factory's panoramic point, to take pictures of the breathtaking views of the coastline and to taste a small piece of "pirate style rum cake".
Last but not least, visit the only Cameo Factory in the Americas! Enjoy watching master craftsman create both classical and modern cameo masterpieces.
Note: Collapsible wheelchair accessible transportation can be provided for this tour for guests with limited mobility, however it is subject to availability and the path to the Museum is of gravel so it may be difficult for a wheelchair- therefore the request must be made at the shore excursion desk prior to ship's arrival in port.
