Take a tour of George Town and Pedro St. James Castle, visit the Town of Hell and relax at the world famous Seven Mile Beach.
As you sit in air conditioned comfort our tour begins in our Capital, George Town. George Town is the center of business and commerce and it is where many of our historic buildings are located.
George Town is a great mix of old and new. Some of the buildings, such as Elmslie Memorial Church, the King George clock tower, the Legislative Assembly Building, The Court House, the Old Town Hall and the Library where built in the early 1900's. On the other hand, the new Government Administration building is a 21st century energy efficient structure.
Our journey continues into the country side of Cayman. We will see many beautiful houses in Spotts and the lush vegetation of Savannah.
Welcome to Pedro St. James Castle, the birthplace of our first constitution. We will spend approximately one hour at the Castle where you will see History come alive. This is a living heritage museum which features a 20 minute multi-sensory show that brings you into the history of the making of the Cayman Islands. The 7 acre landscaped grounds include a restored great house, a hurricane Ivan memorial and breathtaking seaside views. There is a spacious gift shop. On this very exciting tour, a guide is provided.
West Bay Road is the home to many world famous hotels, luxury condos and our governor's mansion. We continue along Seven Mile beach to the district of West Bay where you will see many of our historic older Caymanian homes such as the Old Homestead, which is a great example of the “Gingerbread Style” house.
Visit the Town of Hell. We will spend approximately a half hour at Hell where you can meet the Devil himself and send your friends and family cards postmarked from Hell. There are lots of souvenirs that will record your visit to Hell.
On to world famous Seven Mile Beach and Calico Jack's Bar and Grill. You will have approximately an hour to get a snack, rent some water sports toys or just relax on our white sand beach overlooking the sparkling Caribbean Sea.
When it is time to return to your Carnival Ship, an air conditioned motor coach will take you back to the cruise ship dock
